These little puppies were inhumanely thrown away into the trash because of their disease. They were found in bad condition, sickness, and tiredness. Mike Brown, who spotted them, drove the two puppies to a nearby vet, hoping to save them. However, due to chronic inflammatory bowel disease, one of the babies couldn’t survive. The remaining pup (Sonya) continued his battle with diseases.

Apart from chronic inflammatory bowel, Sonya was tested positive for piroplasmosis. He was given an injection and fluids, but after three days, his health condition stayed unchanged. Sonya also suffered from vomiting and diarrhea with worms. He could hardly eat or drink, and sometimes, the poor puppy experienced horrible seizures. Therefore, the vet had to change the prescription to treat the worms before dealing with other problems.

On day 6, the little boy was moved to a better clinic for his treatment. At that time, his health improved slightly. He digested some food and became more energetic. Mike believed it was his strong desire to live that changed his condition. But he knew Sonya had to overcome a long journey ahead. A week later, however, his health condition became worse. He didn’t gain consciousness and continued to vomit water. On the same day, an ultrasound was performed with a heartbroken result. His liver enlarged, and there were some wormholes inside the bowel.

The doctor did everything in their power to save the little soul. Along with injections and fluids, they used the heart support machine to help Sonya breathe. Based on his condition, they said that the treatment would take at least six months, but Mike would never leave the little boy to fight alone in that journey. He would always stay beside the little creature.

After fifteen days, Sonya was still alive, but the vet couldn’t foretell anything about his recovery. They promised to try even the slightest chance to save the poor little soul. We hope that Sonya will come through the terrible diseases and forget the painful past that he suffered. Let’s pray for the day Sonya could walk and play happily like a healthy dog!
