Stoyan and Dessy are a Bulgarian couple dreaming to build a shelter for stray cats and help them find new homes. They love cats so much that their Youtube channel is full of videos about cat/kitten rescues. Among them, there is an interesting video about rescuing a feral mom cat (Max) who has given birth to four baby kittens.

When Stoyan and Dessy met Max for the first time, she gave birth to four little kittens, but only two of them survived due to dirty and severe habitat. Next summer, the couple came to feed Max the second time. They realized that she had already given birth to another four babies. However, they needed to find out where she had hidden her babies.

It took a while for Stoyan to look for the kittens in several places he guessed their mother might hide them. Eventually, he found them living at the foot of a secluded building. Max had kept her previous litter on a rooftop of a tall building, and that time, she moved her four newborn kittens to a dirty place again. The newborn babies were really weak and vulnerable to their living environment, so Stoyan decided to take them out of that messy spot. He would like to move them to a clearer and more comfortable place.

Because Max was a bit feral, Stoyan gave her some food in an attempt to calm her down. He had already created a box house to which he would relocate the baby kittens. However, while he was trying to move the kittens into the box, one accident happened. As the mom cat was eating right in front of the box, she noticed Stoyan holding her babies in his hand. Soon, she became angry and came back to protect the rest of her babies.

Stoyan gave it a second try to lure her away. At first, Max decided not to trust him again, but then she was attracted by the food and came to enjoy it. Very quickly, Stoyan moved the remaining kittens into the box. Now, they could feel more comfortable. But his job was not done. He needed to lure their mother back to the box so that she could stay with her babies. It was not an easy task because Max had already been anxious with him before. Trying to take the food away from her mouth several times, Stoyan could feel how risky it was. Fortunately, he managed to put her food inside the box where the baby cats were lying.

However, it didn’t work at all. Max decided not to go inside the box with her newborn kittens, although she seemed to be very concerned about them. No one knew what happened to her before, or whether she had bad experience to stay in the box. Finally, Max decided to take her kittens out of the box to the previous place. Her action was unexplainable to most of us, and also, to Stoyan in the story. He couldn’t force her to do the thing she didn’t want to do with her babies. But he decided to visit them more often, to make sure that the kittens grew up healthily even when they lived in a messy place.

Many other street cats are in the same situation as the four kittens in the story. They are very weak and unable to protect themselves from dangers. We need to save these innocent creatures and help them find new safer homes. Share this post for more kittens to be rescued!
