Conrad was a 9-month-old puppy found in a miserable condition. His jaw was broken, and his eyes were festering with pus. The boy suffered from so much pain due to the fleas that covered his whole body. Animal Shelters who spotted the abandoned puppy rushed him to the vet for medical care.

The vet claimed that Conrad had Dirofilaria, a disease resulting in fainting, exhaustion, and severe weight loss. They also performed an X-ray throughout his body and found a bullet in his leg. Moreover, the boy was suffering from a series of diseases including anemia and keratitis. Firstly, Conrad was treated for fleas and pus. When his condition improved, the puppy would go on surgery to fix his jaw and leg and continue his battle with other diseases.

On day two, Conrad was fed with soft food and given a blood transfusion. He was in a lifted spirit and a better condition. On the same day, the doctors carried out a complicated surgery that, luckily, was a success. After a coma, Conrad woke up, but his body was still very weak. At that time, the little puppy started to trust humans. He felt calm and comfortable to be cared for by the vet and his rescuer.

Although his jaw and leg had been cured, the boy wasn’t able to stand or bark at the first week after the operation. The rescuer fed him with decent food every day, hoping that Conrad would heal up soon. The dog ate and slept better, which meant his condition was getting improved. Despite staying at the clinic for a while, Conrad still felt strange when he was being taken care of by the vet. For the first time, the little boy had his hair combed and washed.

Shortly after, his jaw healed up, and the doctor removed the jaw brace. Conrad continued being treated for Dirofilaria with worm-remover medicine. He was such a brave boy who dared to overcome all of his difficulties and fears. After constant efforts, Conrad ended up fighting against Dirofilaria disease. He had the last health checkup before leaving the vet.
