Dog Thrown By His Owner Due To His Disease Is Given Second Chance To Survive

After six years living as a loyal friend with his owner, Baikal was thrown into the concentration camp just because he was no longer useful for his owner. The poor old dog was disappointed, hopeless, and didn’t eat for days. His condition was becoming worse and worse while no one was staying by his side. A kind woman who heard of Baikal’s story drove to the camp and fostered him after that.

Her heart broke into thousand pieces to see Baikal’s body constantly convulse in pain. Without wasting time, she took him to the vet. The doctors had to perform an urgent surgery to remove the tumor from his head. Although it was successful, they said that his chance to survive was not guaranteed, and the poor dog might lose all of his memory. But the rescuer would never give up even the slightest chance to save him.

Luckily, Baikal’s condition became stable after the eight-hour surgery. On the second day, he was still in a coma because of the high doses of anesthesia. During the following days, the doctors gave him sedation so that Baikal could gradually regain his consciousness. Staying beside the poor dog, the woman felt sad. She hoped that Baikal would be able to overcome the most difficult time in his life.

Weeks after, the vet could see slight improvements in Baikal’s health. He started to feel and react a little to what was happening around him. After he had gained consciousness, he received a blood transfusion. The doctors told that it helped shorten his recovery process. Baikal ate well and slept better. The rescuer believed the strong-willed boy would heal up soon.

As soon as he was strong enough, the doctors gave him some exercises that supported his rehabilitation. At first, Baikal practiced walking and standing, and then, he needed to remember everything. That was a long and hard process, but Baikal was a warrior. He never gave up fighting against his fate. Soon, the cool boy was taught to use the wheelchair. In the beginning, he didn’t get used to it, but he could gain enough confidence to walk after a while. On that day, the woman always stayed by his side and offered him emotional support for the poor dog to recover.

Two months after the rescue, Baikal started feeling curious about the surrounding environment. The way he wanted to went to the doctors for exploration was so sweet and heartbreaking. That was the time Baikal learned to stand up, and walk on his own. The first steps were still slow and weak, but Baikal felt excited, while the rescuer cried in happiness to witness that scene. Baikal’s hair was growing back, and his steps were getting firmer. We can be sure that the strong boy will recover in the near future.
