The animal lover community around the world always has a special love for animals. Hundreds of organizations have been established in order to rescue and provide help to many vulnerable animals including stray cats and dogs. Among those, Hope For Paws is an animal rescue organization sharing the same purpose. One day, a young girl texted Hope For Paws, telling them about a mom cat and her kittens living inside an old couch near her house. After that, two rescuers joined together to save that kitten family.

The old couch was no longer used by anyone. Someone had put it next to the trash cans. That would be dangerous for the cats inside when the trash collectors came and took the old couch away with other rubbish. Something must be done to prevent those little kittens from being thrown into the trash.

Firstly, the rescuers tried to catch the mom cat with a trap, so that moving her kittens out of the couch would be easier. They put some food inside the trap in order to lure the cat. Everything seemed to be going well, it didn’t take long for her to go inside the trap. At that moment, the mom cat was very scared and insecure about her babies, but the rescuers moved the trap gently, showing that they would not harm her and her kittens.

Then, the next step was to rescue the baby cats out of the couch. Nobody knew how old the kittens were, so one of the rescuers, Lorita, just reached in. She took out one of the babies, very cute and sweet. She was around two months old. Later, three of her siblings were rescued out of that cramped couch. The rescuers found 4 little kittens in total, but they decided to double-check again to make sure no one was left behind.

The whole family was taken to the vet to receive medical care. Four kittens were named Todd, Ella, James and Patty. Todd, Ella and Patty got some eye problems, of which Todd was the most serious. James seemed to be healthier than his siblings. Their mother was Kimberly. She was still confused, but at least, she could make sure that her babies were in safe.

Then, people gave them some food so that the cats could feel more comfortable and relaxing. The mom cat and her babies would be fostered at Kitty Bungalow until they could their new homes. That was a big change to the whole family because if the rescuers hadn’t come in time, they would have been dumped into the trash. But now, they were in safe and good care!

Weeks after, the kittens were much healthier and their eyes healed up perfectly. They also grew up quickly and enjoyed playing with toys. It was so cool to know that they were in safe and much care.
